Who is Nicholas Lloyd?

The chairman of the public relations consultancy BLJ London, Nicholas Lloyd has been the editor of all three leading national newspapers, The Sunday Times, The Sun & News of the World in the UK.

He spent his time as a senior executive with News Corp and worked across various media like Newspapers, film, television, and magazines. He has advised numerous business leaders and all three Prime Ministers.

Nicholas Lloyd was born on 9 June 1942 as Nicholas Markley Lloyd in England. A former British newspaper editor and broadcaster was schooled at Bedford Modern School and later on attended St Edmund Hall.

After graduation from high school, he joined Oxford University, where he studied Advanced Management Program. After completion of the study, he began his career as a reporter at the Daily Mail in 1964; all appreciated his hard work and discipline. In 1996, he joined The Sunday Times as an Education Correspondent. 

The breakthrough in his career came after joining to The Sun where he was posted as an Editor in 1972 and also became an assistant editor at the News of the World.

Moreover, Lloyd returned to The Sun in 1976. He was an editor of the Sunday People from the year 1982 to 1983 and eventually transferred to News of the World for a year for editing. He later edited the Daily Express from the year 1986 to 1995.

Lloyd was awarded a Knighthood in the 1990 Prime Minister's Resignation Honours. Also, he presented a breakfast show on LBC 97.3 from 1997 to 1999. As of now, he is a Chairman of the public relations consultancy BLJ London since 2010.
