Who is Chuck Grassley?

American politician, Charles Ernest Grassley, also known as Chuck Grassley is the president pro tempore of the United States Senate. Charles is also the Republican member of the United States senator from the state of lowa.

In 1980, Charles Ernest was elected to the U.S. senate. Grassley served eight terms in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1959 through 1975. In addition to that, Grassly also served as three terms in the United States House of Representatives from 1975 through 1981. On January 3, 2019, after Orrin Hatch, an American attorney and politician retired from his service as the U.S. senator, Grassley became the most senior Republican in the Senate.

A member of the Republican Party same as Michael Steele, Chuck was born on September 17, 1933, to Ruth (nee Corwin) and Louis Arthur Grassley. Born in New Hartford, Iowa, he attended Iowa State Teachers College, which has changed its name to the University of Northern Iowa. Charles earned a degree in B.A. from the university in 1955. Similarly, a year later in 1956, he pursued an M.A. degree in political science. He pursued a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Iowa but unfortunately didn't complete his degree.

Chuck and Barbara Grassley walked down the aisle in August 23, 1954. The heaven made couple exchanged the vows in the presence of their friends and family at The Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa.

The Trump-Ukraine scandal is an ongoing political scandal that revolves around the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to coerce Ukraine and other foreign countries to provide negative reports about Joe Biden, a primary candidate of 2020 Democratic Party Presidential primaries and caucuses. 

It became the topic of public concern after a Whistleblower complaint against it in August 2019. The US president was accused of using his presidential power to disclose the identity of Whistleblower to which the Chuck resisted protecting the laws of the whistleblower

The author of the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989, Chuck received a lifetime achievement award on May 17, 2007, from the National Whistleblower Centre. On October 1, 2019, Grassley declared that "the whistleblower protection laws and ought to be heard out and protected".
