Who is Maria Shriver?

Shriver was born on November 6, 1955, to parents politician Sargent Shriver and activist Eunice Kennedy Shriver in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, she became interested in the world of politics as she is the niece of President John F. Kennedy of the United States. 

Maria holds American nationality and belongs to a mixed ethnic background of Huguenot German, Irish, Scottish, English, Netherlands, and French. As for education, Shriver attended Westland Middle School in Bethesda. She also attended the Sacred Heart's Stone Ridge School and graduated in 1973.

Shriver began her career with KYW-TV in Philadelphia in journalism. She co-anchored the CBS Morning News from August 1985 to August 1986. She also anchored later on NBC News Sunday Today, NBC Nightly News, and NBC Dateline. 

She has also authored several books in addition to her career in politics to date. Some are Ten Things I Want I Knew Before I Went Out into The Real World, What's Heaven? And Who are you going to be? Little Book, Answer Within and Big Question. Her career is flourishing and has earned a pretty good amount of money. 

Personal Life: Husband 

Maria Shriver was earlier married to Arnold Schwarzenegger, an Austrian bodybuilder, and actor. The pair first met at the home of their mother at a charity tennis tournament. After knowing each other for quite a while, they fell in love with each other and immediately on April 26, 1986, the couple got married.

Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Frances Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The couple has four kids altogether: Christina Maria Aurelia, Katherine Eunice, Patrick Arnold, and Christopher Sargent Shriver.

After 25 years of marriage on May 9, 2011, Shriver and Schwarzenegger announced their separation. Like Hollywood famous couple, Steven Seagal and Kelly LeBrock, there marital relationship also came to the end.

Following her split with her first husband, she started dating political consultant Matthew Dowd in 2013. 

However, her relationship with Matthew also couldn't last, and the pair decided to part their ways from each other. On the other hand, Arnold has an illegitimate son Joseph Baena with housekeeper Mildred Baena.

The relationship between Shriver and Arnold has stirred a number of disputes while they were together. Arnold was criticized after it was revealed that, while still married to Shriver, he had fathered a child with the longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena. 

In addition, the state of their divorce has also produced several news as it has not been completed to date even after seven years of filing a divorce.
