Chris Moyles was born on 22nd February 1974 in Leeds, West, Riding of Yorkshire England. Born to h8is English parents, Christopher Moyles and Hanna Veronica Moyles, he is of White ethnicity and holds British nationality.

Moyles joined Mount St Mary's Catholic High School. During his school days, Chris started his career as a broadcaster at Wakefield's Broadcast to Hospitals Service (WBHS).

Later, Moyles began serving as an assistant at local radio station Aire FM. 

On 5th January 2004, Chris began serving as a presenter at Radio 1's breakfast program, named "The Chris Moyles Show," swapping places with Sara Cox. 

He had been appointed to increase the ratings for the show and did so, putting on an extra 1,000,000 listeners to the audience in the first quarter of 2004. 

On 7th September 2009, Chris was named as the longest-serving breakfast presenter of BBC Radio 1. He broke the record which was held by Tony Blackburn.
